Families gathered at the Schreiber Public Library for the annual Easter Egg Hunt that blended tradition with a strong community purpose. Children eagerly searched the library grounds for colourful eggs, while parents looked on as laughter and excitement filled the space.

The event also highlighted a growing partnership between the library and United for Literacy, a Not-For-Profit organization dedicated to improving reading skills across Canada. Jill McRae was on hand to share resources and connect families with free literacy programs designed to support learners of all ages.

Library staff said the collaboration helps extend their mission beyond books, creating opportunities for families to engage with literacy in fun, accessible ways. Organizers noted that events like the Easter Egg Hunt not only bring the community together, but also raise awareness about the importance of reading.
